Designed for 3.3-5 V systems, Models LTC2870 and LTC2871 integrate pin-controlled termination resistors that allow for interface reconfiguration. Units feature ESD protection of ±26 kV HBM and ±16 kV HBM, respectively, when powered off or operating. Model LTC2870 can be configured as 2 RS232 single-ended transceivers or 1 RS485 differential transceiver on shared I/O lines, whereas Model LTC2871 offers independent control of 2 RS232 transceivers and 1 RS485 transceiver, each on dedicated I/O lines.
