Placing commonly used hard drive data onto 256 MB flash memory, Momentus® 5400 PSD Hard Drives can boot-up files of flash memory to minimize delay. Once drive spins up, computer files are pulled simultaneously from spinning media and flash. In hybrid mode, hard drive's spindle motors spin down, minimizing power requirements and extending battery life. Drive locks read-write heads in place, enabling drive to withstand 900 G of shock.
