Model U224-1R4-R consists of 3-port USB 2.0 hub and 1-port remote receiver, while U224-4R4-R consists of transmitter and 4-port USB remote hub. Both enable peripheral devices to be located up to 150 ft from computer using Cat5e/Cat6 cabling. While U224-1R4-R enables up to 4 peripherals (3 local and one remote) to be connected to one computer, U224-4R4-R enables 4 remote devices to be similarly connected. No drivers or special software are required to install/use extenders.
