It comes with 1.2 GHz CPU, 256 MB DDRII RAM, one Gigabit LAN port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and one eSATA port. While 42.9 W is required under normal operation with four 3.5 or 2.5 in. HDDs, scheduled power on/off function and HDD hibernation further minimize power consumption. Configured as RAID 5, DS409 reaches 34 MBps upload and 47 MBps download speeds.
